Long-listed Prix de Rome 2018

Mirte’s proposal Retract, Replete was part of the jury’s top 12 for the Prix de Rome 2018. 

Mirte’s statement for the diminishing region of Eastern Groningen focusses on landscape rehabilitation by extracting sediment from the muddy Eems Dollars. With this residu empty building volumes are filled up, left to time to turn the rigid agricultural environment into a resilient nature area. By this the challenges the region has to deal with are placed into a new light, one with new opportunities on the long run.
